2. Oki-Ko-Ki Banis Watersports

Having set-up shop in the 70s, Oki-Ko-Ki Banis is a pioneer in organising private speed boat trips to the legendary Blue Lagoon in Comino and the surrounding caves. Over the years the company has grown to own a variety of powerboats (the fastest commercial ones on in Malta) and organising a variety of trips, tours and activities.

The friendly team at Oki-Ko-Ki Banis are all about personalised service and always make sure that their trips are unique with local tips, stories and a laugh or two always delivered. They are also conveniently located in Spinola Bay, St Julians where the largest concentration of hotels in Malta is found. The Oki-Ko-Ki Banis boat trips can therefore be easily reached from your accommodation but they can even organise to pick you up from other seaside resorts such as Sliema, Qawra and Bugibba. Below is a list of various tours that they organise:

Comino trips: a great day out on a fast powerboat that will get you from St Julian's to Comino in 40 minutes flat! The crystal clear waters of the Blue Lagoon never fail to amaze, as do the mystical caves surrounding the island which Oki-Ko-Ki Banis make a point to go into and not just pass by them.

Gozo trips: this is one for those who want to pack Gozo and Comino in one day. A transfer by powerboat to Gozo, where you then join an open-top bus tour around the beautiful island. Once done, you get back onto the powerboat and transferred to Comino to explore the caves and enjoy a couple of hours in the Blue Lagoon before being whisked back to Malta.

Comino Sunset BBQs: a speedboat trip to Comino just before the sun goes down to then enjoy a magical sunset in gorgeous surroundings. The Oki-Ko-Ki Banis team will then take care of organising a fun evening BBQ, complete with music, on the Comino shoreline.

There are many other activities available such as full/half day charters of a variety of boats and yachts, powerboat transfers from the Grand Harbour in Valletta to Mgarr Harbour in Gozo, diving and snorkelling trips, fishing trips and a variety of watersports such as parakiting, water skiing, jet-skis and canoe hire.

3. Mediterraneo Marine Park Malta

The Mediterraneo Marine Park is an educational fun day out for all the family. With dolphin, sea lion and tropical bird presentations, an amusement area and reptile house, it is a unique attraction in Malta. The Mediterraneo Marine Park is located in an ideal area right on the Mediterranean coast and away from any major development. Discover a world with loving creatures from both the land and sea.

The centrepiece of the park must be the Dolphinarium where visitors never fail to be impressed with the agility, intelligence and the lovely demonstration put on by these fantastic creatures. It is actually also possible to swim and interact with the bottlenose dolphins under the close supervision of the experienced staff. A truly memorable moment in Malta for any lover of these aquatic mammals.

The sea lions will put a smile on your face performing tricks such as pirouettes and jumps while the hosts make it a point to educate and inform visitors. An array of Tropical birds show off their unique and sometimes odd behaviour with Macaws, Greenwing Amazons and Cockatoos all joining in on the act. Finally, a state-of-art Reptile house hosts a vast collection of snakes, turtles, lizards and a number of insects that are bound to send a shiver up your spine.

The Mediterraneo Marine Park also includes a number of on-site facilities such as a play area for children, a restaurant and cafeteria, souvenir shop and a mini-lab for instant photo development. They also organise children's parties and special rates are available for groups.

In Summer 2012, the park was acquired by Costa Edutainment of Italy who own five Aquariums in Italy, including Europe's largest located in Genova. This has ensured the professional management of the park and to continue the company's policy to use marine life to educate first.

Ample parking is found just outside the marine park and public transport is available with bus stops situated just outside the park's entrance. The Mediterraneo Marina Park is open all year round during the following hours:

5. The Fish Lounge

What better than to care for yourself in a way that simply allows nature to take its course? These little "skin specialists" at The Fish Lounge like nothing better than to have a nibble at the superfluous skin on your feet while you get a fun and stimulating reflexology massage.

Alright, it's not actually a nibble... the fish have no teeth! It is more like a gentle vacuum clean. It is a little tickly at first as the vibration effect comes on, but within seconds the feeling turns into a comforting and relaxing motion which everybody loves!

'Fish therapy' has been practised for centuries in Turkey as a natural skin treatment, using a very special type of fish called Garra Rufa which just love to exfoliate and massage your feet!

Never has a pedicure been so entertaining, as these little fish suck away unwanted dead skin, opening your pores and leaving your feet feeling much softer. The gentle massaging effect they create in so doing improves blood circulation and stimulates acupuncture points, which in turn enhances natural immunity while releasing stress.

In addition, the treatment helps ease the symptoms of numerous skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis, and the good news is that the fish will not transfer any disease. Feet are carefully cleaned and checked by The Fish Lounge staff before every treatment and a powerful UV-filtration system sterilizes all the water in your tank every 6 minutes, ensuring the utmost hygiene.

It is easy to understand why it is essential in this business to conform to the highest hygiene specifications, and The Fish Lounge has made it their mission to provide you with the most professional Fish Pedicures on the Island. The Fish Lounge use disposable towels, overshoes, over-sized custom-manufactured Spa units which are specifically designed for this type of treatment, and only the original "Kangal" Garra Rufa Fish." All this to ensure you get just what you deserve, the best and safest fish treatment available!

The Fish Lounge is conveniently located in the busy road that joins Paceville to Spinola Bay in St Julians, as well as the main seafront road in Bugibba.

Try this truly fascinating and fun experience... not many things that are good for you are this much fun!

Opening hours:

St Julians: Mon - Sun from 12pm - 8pm

Bugibba: Mon - Sun from 10am - 6pm
